Who Are Roan Records?
Roan Records is an independent record shop and coffee bar in Teddington, built on a simple idea: that music sounds better when you can hold it in your hands.
The shop opened in December 2020, founded by Rob after decades of collecting records and dreaming of running a record shop of his own. Built around vinyl, conversation and coffee, Roan Records quickly became a place where people could take their time – flicking through racks, discovering something unexpected, and sharing recommendations across the counter.
Originally focused on new releases, the shop has grown over time to include carefully selected pre-owned vinyl alongside fresh pressings, spanning rock and pop while reaching comfortably into metal, jazz, reggae, hip hop, electronic music and beyond. Whether you’re hunting for a long-sought pressing or buying your very first record, the goal has always been the same: making music discovery enjoyable.
In June 2025, ownership passed to Tim, who had already been part of the shop since its early days as a member of staff. After four years behind the counter – and many more as a dedicated collector – taking over felt like a natural next step. Alongside a serious interest in records comes an equally serious interest in coffee, continuing the shop’s tradition of pairing great music with a great cup.
Today Roan Records remains an independent record shop at the heart of Teddington – a place for collectors, casual listeners and curious newcomers alike to browse, discover and spend time with the music they love.
