The group emerged in 2018 as a critical and fan favourite with their debut LP, Death Spells. Stereogum said the music is “all so beautiful”, while Heavy Blog Is Heavy went as far as to christen it “a landmark”. Thrice and Deafheaven each invited the band on tour, and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe was effusive in his praise.
