Nick Douwma, the Londoner known as Sub Focus, became a global dance superstar through his constant output of accessible, adventurous, and technically precise drum'n'bass tracks, which draw influence from house, dubstep, dancehall, and rock music. Signing to RAM Records in 2005, he became a fixture of the U.K. Dance charts beginning with that year's number one-ranking single "X-Ray." Well-received originals and remixes for artists like the Prodigy, Deadmau5, and Basement Jaxx followed, and Sub Focus made his mainstream breakthrough with 2013's Torus, which reached number 11 on the U.K. album chart and contained several hit singles.
