Greg Lake’s sophomore solo LP Manoeuvres furthered his partnership with Gary Moore, only this time soft rock and pop-rock are the dominant elements at play. Moore squeezes in some appealing guitar attacks on the title track and on ‘Too Young To Love,’ while Lake’s voice and bass are both in the spotlight on the moving romance ballad ‘Haunted,’ which is one of the album’s most emotive pieces; ‘It’s You, You Gotta Believe’ could almost have been an outtake from ELP’s Love Beach.
