Description

The Alan Parsons Project’s multi-million selling album The Turn of a Friendly Card, their celebrated prog pop tour de force, is reissued in a variety of formats, including this 2LP heavyweight, 45 RPM Audiophile edition.

The first edition comes with a numbered Obi-strip. Expertly cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, May 2025 on a customised Neumann VMS 80 lathe at half speed using high-resolution archive transfers taken from Eric Woolfson’s rarely played, mint condition duplicate masters run at the time of the original sessions in 1980. Pressed at Optimal, Europe’s premium pressing plant.

Other formats include a Limited Edition Clear vinyl and Standard Black vinyl LP, half-speed remastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road studios, as well as an expanded CD with 4 bonus tracks.

Their 5th studio album is a concept album approaching themes of the gambling industry and the fate of gamblers. The album was a worldwide hit, achieving platinum and gold status in numerous countries. Like other Alan Parsons Project albums, there were a variety of different lead vocalists employed including Chris Rainbow, Lenny Zakatek, Elmer Gantry as well as Eric Woolfson himself. Plus, a selection of session musicians such as guitarists Ian Bairnson and David Paton and drummer Stuart Elliott with arrangements by Andrew Powell.
