Celebrating 30 years of Texas’ acclaimed fourth studio album, White on Blonde is released on vinyl for the first time. Released in February 1997 into a musical landscape running on Britpop swagger and laddy energy, Texas’ landmark fourth LP, which is certified 6x platinum in the UK, was the absolute opposite: a record that embraced the band’s love of soul, trip-hop and more, and turned it into a catalogue of emotionally-resonant, radio-ready hit singles.
A UK number 1 album featuring five top 10 singles including “Say What You Want”, “Black Eyed Boy”, “Halo” and “Put Your Arms Around Me”. The band followed it up with curveball moves including a Wu-Tang Clan collaboration on “Say What You Want (All Day, Every Day)” that earned them a further Top 10. Nothing about any of it was expected, but that was precisely what turned it into magic.
For its 30th anniversary, White on Blonde has been remastered at Abbey Road Studios and is available in several special editions. The limited 1LP edition is pressed on striking split white and gold vinyl and includes an exclusive 7″ single featuring Texas’ brand-new 2026 single, “Another Way To Cry”, making this a special celebration of the album’s legacy while bringing the story firmly into the present.
The definitive 30th anniversary 2LP edition pairs the remastered original album with a collection of demos, rarities and B-sides. Presented in an expanded gatefold sleeve, the 2LP is pressed on one white and one gold vinyl. The package also includes a booklet featuring rare and unseen photographs of the band and new liner notes from Peter Kay.
The expanded 2CD edition marks the album’s first reissue in three decades, featuring the original album alongside an extensive collection of demos, rarities, B-sides, remixes and live recordings. Highlights include the “Say What You Want” Wu-Tang single, the 1997 BRIT Awards performance featuring Method Man and Mary Anne Hobbs BBC sessions. Presented in a 6-panel CD pack, the edition includes a booklet featuring rare and unseen images of the band and liner notes from Peter Kay.
